UPDATED STORY: Pensioner found dead in Soesdyke home; SUV missing

ANTHONY Breedy, a 60 year old pensioner of 76-78 Hillfoot Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara was this afternoon found dead in his home.

His body was discovered in the lower flat of his two storied house lying face down with his hands and feet bound.

The discovery was made by a male friend who visited the man’s home to have a discussion with him. It was communicated to News Room that the man’s black SUV is now missing.

Mansay Mohabir who lives next door to the deceased explained that she last saw Breedy on Saturday when some church folks were ministering to him.

When News Room visited the home this afternoon, investigators and crime scene ranks were busy gathering evidence for their investigations.

Speaking with News Room at the scene was Divisional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken, Divisional Detective Reshi Das and Sub Divisional Officer Timmerman.

Hicken said the house was not ransacked to any extent to suggest that the man may have been murdered by someone he knew. He said that ranks are presently working to ensure that they ascertain the motive for the crime.

Breedy returned to Guyana last year after working in Montserrat as an Agriculture Officer. He said to have farm lands somewhere along the Soesdyke Highway.
