Unidentified body found in Botanical Gardens; suicide suspected

The body of a male was this afternoon found lying face up in the Botanical Gardens in full view of the public.

According to police investigators, who spoke with News Room, the body was spotted in the same position for some time and persons thought that he was either under the influence of alcohol or may have been taking a nap, as those are common features of persons who visit the Gardens.

It was after persons checked that they realized that the man was not breathing and that next to his body lay a sanitary cup with a cream substance, which police suspect to be poison.

Moves are being made to have the substance tested tomorrow, even as the police are calling on anyone who may have information that can lead to the identification of the body to come forward.

The man is of East Indian descent and was clad in long black jeans, red jersey with some amount of writing and was bare-footed.

Investigations are ongoing.
