Man shot, robbed of US & GYDs at hotel bar

Over the weekend, 31 year old, Rondell Orlando was shot to his left side, after being robbed of a quantity of US and Guyanese currency and two cellular phones while he sat at a hotel bar in Campbellville, Georgetown.

According to a police report, at around 23:45hrs on Saturday March 19, two men entered the hotel pretending to be customers, during which they pulled out firearms and held up Orlando, who was at the bar with two other men, and took away a total of $3,000.00US, $40,000.00GYD and the two cell phones.

The man was then shot to his left side during the incident, after which the perpetrators escaped in a waiting motor car.

He has been admitted to hospital as the investigations continue.
