    Granger Tiwarie

Transparency International Guyana Institute says it rejects the current state of affairs and is calling on government to begin the process of correction.

A statement from the watch dog body today says it rejects in particular the recent events surrounding the appointment of businessman B.K Tiwarie as Ministerial Advisor on Business Development to Minister Joseph Harmon.

This appointment was subsequently rescinded by President David Granger.

Consequently, TIGI is urging government to immediately release information on instruments of appointments issued by the Administration and to disclose the identity of the donors pre- and post-elections 2015 and the amount and or value of their contributions.

The statement from the monitoring agency today also cites the Minister’s remarks to the Kaieteur Newspaper article from march 31 last in which he is reported as saying “We (government) have issued several instruments like these to persons both from the APNU and the AFC side and you would notice that I have signed it for many persons who have helped us in the campaign and those who have the capacity to help us further.”
