    Members of the Board of Inquiry mandated to investigate the allegations of mismanagement and wrongdoing at the Guyana Oil Company (Guyoil) and Guyana Energy Agency (GEA) today met with State Minister, Joseph Harmon to update him on the progress  thus far.

     

    The board members, who were appointed in March also provided an oral preliminary report. It was commissioned following several allegations of misconduct against staff within both fuel agencies.

     

    The aim of the Inquiry is to “advise the state on the veracity of those allegations and to report their findings and conclusions to the Government and to make recommendations on actions to be taken if individuals are found culpable.”

     

    Assistant Commissioner Winston Cosbert leads the board and its other members are Superintendent Julius Wright and Major Edgar Adams. The report is due on the May 16, 2016.
