The groups for the 2016 edition of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Under-16 championships were decided on Sunday (May 1) at the Cara Lodge where a draw of the teams took place.

With 10 teams set to participate in the male tournament and seven in the female, Guyana will be a part of Group B in the male’s championship and Group A on the distaff side.

After the drawing, President of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Nigel Hinds noted that he is optimistic of Guyana’s chances in both the male and female championships.

President of the CBC, Glyne Clarke urged the Guyanese populace to support the tournament by cheering on their athletes.
