Ramdhani and Ramraj win GOA Ladies Doubles title

The Guyana Olympic Association Open Badminton tournament continued on Friday at the National Gymnasium with action in the Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Doubles events.

The first final in the tournament was played off with Priyanna Ramdhani and Ambika Ramraj defeating Ayanna Watson and Emelia Ramdhani: 21-7, 21-12.

Below are the summarised scores from day two of the competition.

Men’s Doubles semi-finals: Narayan Ramdhani and Jonathan Mangra defeated Ronald Yuen and Avinash Odit 21-15, 21-18; and Nicholas Ali teamed up with his coach Gokarn Ramdhani to defeat Darrell Carpenay and Marlon Chung 13-21, 22-20, 21-13.

Ladies Doubles final: Priyanna Ramdhani and Ambika Ramraj defeated Ayanna Watson and Emelia Ramdhani 21-7, 21-12.

Mixed Doubles quarter-finals: Cecil Abrams and Kara Abrams defeated Gokarn Ramdhani and Emelia Ramdhani 21-12, 19-21, 21-16.

Mixed Doubles semi-finals: Narayan Ramdhani and Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Darrell Carpenay and Ayanna Watson 21-5, 21-12.

The tournament is scheduled to continue on Monday (June 27) at the National Gymnasium from 17:30h to 19:00h.

Matches to be played are the Doubles final between Narayan Ramdhani/Jonathan Mangra and Gokarn Ramdhani/Nicholas Ali; Mixed Doubles semi-final between Jonathan Mangra/Ambika Ramraj and Cecil Abrams/Kara Abrams with the winner playing Narayan Ramdhani/Priyanna Ramdhani in the final.
