Changing the way you approach business-Entrepreneurship Master Class a success

Changing the way you approach business, the ‘Entrepreneurship master class’ has proven to be a success thus far.

Speaking during a Meet and Greet hosted for the 4-week Master Class, Businessman and Developer of the programme, Dr. Rosh Khan noted that applications to join the programme have increased from 50 to 170 persons since it started.

As a result of the successes, efforts are being made to improve and increase the programmes offered as he highlighted the important role small businesses play in developing the economy.

“We’ll be increasing the amount of programs we do, we’ll have workshops which I call growth-shops…we’ll be doing that in areas like innovation, social media, digital wealth creation, sales mastering but what’s really interesting is that we have started to partner with bestselling authors around the world, thought leaders around the world, starting to package their information” Khan stated.

News Room spoke to several participants who are seeking to inspire others to join the programme and become businessmen and women. These entrepreneurs demonstrate that you’re never too young to start your own business and it is not as difficult as it seems to put your business ideas into actions.

Romaine Benn, owner of Hollywood Benn Creative Arts shows that there is no need for a big and fancy location to start up a business. She stated that “we don’t have a physical location, I actually work from home and location doesn’t matter, wherever you are, I’ll find you.”

Benn shared that she encountered several problems during the starting up of her business which the class helped her to deal with. She said “I didn’t know how to go about doing certain things, but with the master class…I can now pick up and idea and have a whole new business in seconds.”

Ayana M^cCalman who is a Lawyer and aspiring author said she is working to writing ‘self-help’ books “to be able to share some of the success that I have been able to achieve, but as well as the things that have been hard and the failures because I am learning resilience and the fact that you learn as much from your failure as you do from your success.”

Shivana Persaud who is the Co-owner of three restaurants; The Publik, The Pasta Bowl and Piba Bar expressed the view that the class has enabled her to understand the importance of promoting her businesses.

Public Speaking Coach, Dawn Bumbury shared some of her successes which include being able to formulate an international deal. She noted that the class taught her the importance of networking and branding which is important in her line of business.

Joel Warner, a tutor, and owner of Brainspark learning center helps youths to improve their grades. He explained how the idea to start up his business occurred to him.

“When I was at the university, I decided that I will try the principles I have learnt in mastering the art of thinking in one of my subjects and I got through, I got an A in that course. It was a complex course but that experiment helped me to say ‘maybe it’s not just me, let me try it on somebody else…I then taught my students the art of thinking. It’s like thinking about what you’re thinking about.”

The class was lauded by outgoing Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy; Bryan Hunt who encouraged the participants to follow their dreams.

Hunt explained that majority of the small businesses in the US are the ones that expanded to the largest companies in the US. He noted that entrepreneurship breaks down barriers between communities and cultures and build bridges that help persons take on common challenges together.
