With a double from star forward Omar Brewley, along with a goal each from Amar Jones, Antoine Gill, Shaquille Campbell and Jermaine Kingston, the Christianburg Wismar Secondary School hammered Tutorial Secondary 6 – 0 to move into the semi-finals of this year’s Digicel School’s Football Championship.

The Lindeners, chasing their fifth consecutive title, will match skills with Sir Leon Lessons on Wednesday at the Leonora Track and Field Facility.

Bush Lot Secondary defeated Soesdyke Secondary 3 – 1 to book their spot in the semis where they will play last year’s finalist Chase Academy.

Omar Brewley scored a double in Linden's 6 - 0 win over Tutorial Secondary School.

They’re known as the best football playing school in Guyana and the Christianburg Wismar Secondary School student didn’t disappoint their supporters who journeyed from the Mining Town of Linden to cheer them on.

Brewley, who was a member of the National U17 team that recently competed in the CFU U17 World Cup Qualification Tournament, put the defending Champs in control in the 17th minute when he converted a sweet left-footed shot that curled beautifully around the hands of the Tutorial goalkeeper.

The naturally ‘ambidextrous player’ had earlier threatened the goal, but his shots went either wide or was held on too by the Berbice side’s custodian.

The school more popularly known as ‘Multi’, ended the first half with a 1 – 0 cushion and didn’t waste time in the second stanza, showing the  Berbicians why they’ve played in every final and only losing once (in the inaugural championship).

Jones headed home his side’s second goal of the match; connecting from a well taken corner while Gill, in the 60th minute, made it 3 – 0.

Brewley scored his second of the night when was raced onto a ‘through-ball’ in the 67th minute and the 15-year old forward held off two defenders before unleashing a powerful right-footed volley which the keeper had no chance of stopping.

Kingston scored in the 85th minute while Campbell hit home the side’s final goal on the stroke of regulation time.

Meanwhile, Bush Lot/Soesdyke game offered very little to cheer about, but, in the end, it was the school from Region 6 that prevailed, thanks to a hat-trick of goals from Titus Fraser (4th, 14th and 80th minutes).  Tyrone Khan scored his side’s lone goal in the 24th minute.
