Health officials across Region six to benefit from intense customer service training

In an effort to provide Berbicians with quality services at the various health facilities in the Region, the Public Health Services Department has embarked on an initiative which will see porters, maids, Chief Executive Officers and even doctors being trained in customer service.

This information was disclosed to News Room by director of the regional Public Health Services Department, Jevaughn Stephens.

Stephens said, ” I do believe that above any medication, not one ingredient we could miss and that’s the community with good customer care and once we can give good customer care, persons will be more open to anything else that health has to offer across the region.”

The Public Health Services Department had visited all the health facilities in the region and observed that most are lacking the ability to provide good customer care, according to the director.

According to him, when a person visits the hospital, it is not because they do not have anything to do, but  because they need help, noting that ” if you are a porter and you approached a person in the wrong way then that person will have a negative setback so all the health officials are included in the training programme.”

Stephens disclosed that the first set of training has already begun and will last for fifteen days with quarterly refresher training.

The training programme is being funded and facilitated by the St Francis Community Developers in Rose Hall Town.
