Drawn from fifteen youth groups in ‘A’ Division of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), fifteen young ladies will be vying for the GPF’s youth pageant crown.

The pageant will be hosted under the theme “Enhancing Female Empowerment” on Saturday, August 13, 2016. This year the pageant would be held at the National Culture Centre where the admission is free. However, a ticket will be given to persons attending to regulating the seating capacity.

It will see the participants displaying cultural, religious and talented pieces.

This year’s pageant will be the second with the first being hosted last year at the St Stanislaus College on Brickdam.

On Saturday the young ladies were treated to a day out and photo shooting exercise at Tiperu in the Mazaruni River.

The exercise allowed the young ladies to blend and share ideas while being taught the importance of being engaged in healthy competition.

At the end of the pageant, the queen would have a billboard erected in her honour in her own community.  Last year’s queen came from Agricola.
