Children of the ‘Bless the Children Home’ were on Friday blessed with various school supplies from the Guyana Karate College.

Ms Aaliya Wong, a senior student at the karate college made the presentation to the students on behalf of her colleagues on Friday, September 02, 2016. Wong, who is a contestant in the Guyana Talented Teen competition, usually donates her time to assist the children at the home. As part of her pageant platform, she chose to further assist the students and therefore organised a ‘drive’ to gather supplies for the children.

The Bless the Children Orphanage was founded and is privately operated by Ms Sheila Surujpaul and her husband Rev. Surujpaul.

Approximately eighteen children is housed at the Orphanage.

Students of the college also took time out to interact with the children.

The Guyana Karate College has been in operation for over ten years. Throughout the years the college has been hosting various drives to assist the community and to aid it in its goal to build its own building.
