    Kassim Khan and Devon Clements combined for 10 wickets as Lower Corentyne assumed total control against Upper Demerara/East Bank Demerara on day one of the fourth round of the Guyana Cricket Board’s Jaguars Franchise League Three-day competition on Friday.

     

    Khan bagged 5-37 and Clements 5-43 to bowl out Upper Demerara/East Bank Demerara for 105. In response, Lower Corentyne closed the day on 227-7 at the Lusignan Commmunity Centre ground.

     

    Other top performers on the day were Chandrapaul Hemraj (81), Kamesh Yadram (53) and Seon Hetmyer (51*). Below are the summarised scores from the games.

     

    At Lusignan, Lower Corentyne closed the day on 227-7 with Seon Hetmyer on 51 not out and Devon Clements on 28 not out. Gajanand Singh scored 43 and Jonathan Foo hit 42.

     

    Earlier, East Bank Demerara won the toss and elected to bat, but could only muster 105 all out on a good batting track. Danny Narayan top scored with 48. Bowling for Lower Corentyne, Kassim Khan took 5-37, while Devon Clements had 5-43.

     

    At Enterprise, East Coast Demerara reached 294-6 against West Berbice at the close of play. Chandrapaul Hemraj scored 81, Kamesh Yadram contributed 53, Bhaskar Yadram made 48, and Ramnarine Chatura chipped in with 34. The overnight batsmen are Amir Khan on 39 and Vivian Albert on three not out.

     

    At Bourda, play between Georgetown and Essequibo was called off at 13:30h. At Tuschen, play between West Demerara and Upper Corentyne was called off shortly after lunch due to rain.
