Following a recent incident at the Springlands Magistrates’ Court which resulted in a magistrate and lawyers abandoning the building, systems have been put in place and Court is back in session at the former office of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) at Springlands.

The former RDC sub-office will be used until rehabilitation works is completed on the original Court building.

According to a reliable source, the rehabilitation works on the Springlands Magistrates Court should not take longer than ten weeks and will be completed with funding from the Supreme Court.

On September 08, 2016, the presiding magistrate adjourned the day’s proceedings as the court was infested with bats which leave an obnoxious scent inside of the building. News Room was told that on one occasion sections of the roof had collapsed not too far from where the magistrate usually sits.
