    National Under-19 batsman Bhaskar Yadram and veteran Devon Clements stroked hundreds, while Christopher Barnwell and Assad Fudadin narrowly missed out on day one of the sixth and penultimate round of the Guyana Cricket Board’s Jaguars Franchise League Three-day competition on Friday.

     

    Below are the summarised scores from the games.

     

    At Tuschen, Lower Corentyne made 325 all out. Devon Clements struck a commanding 143 (16x4s, 5x6s) to take tournament leaders out of a spot of bother after they were 104-5 at one stage. Seon Hetmyer scored 49, Jonathan Foo struck a quick-fire 46 and Hakeem Hinds contributed 21.

    Bowling for West Demerara, Romario Shepherd took his second five-wicket haul of the competition, claiming 5-60, while Raymon Reifer had 3-83 and Rishi Looknauth took 2-80. West Demerara reached 22-0 at the close of play with Tagenarine Chanderpaul on 10 and Chabiraj Ramcharran on eight.

     

    At Imam Bacchus, East Coast Demerara made 316 all out with Guyana Under-19 batsman Bhaskar Yadram stroking 118. His brother Kamesh Yadram made 61 and Ameer Khan scored 58. Bowling for Essequibo, Akinie Adams took 6-53. Essequibo, in reply, reached 40-2 at the close of play.

     

    At Everest, Upper Corentyne were dismissed for 222 on the back of a shot-filled 92 off 99 balls from Assad Fudadin. Clinton Pestano supported well with 49. Bowling for East Bank Demerara, Steven Jacobs took 4-97, Stephan Harris had 3-57 and Budhan Baksh claimed 2-19. East Bank Demerara closed on 75-4 with Danny Narayan on 30 not out. Eon Hooper has so far taken 2-8.

    At Cumberland, Georgetown won the toss and batted first, reaching 243 all out off just 53 overs. Captain Christopher Barnwell top scored with 91, while Dexter Solomon (42), Sunil Persaud (28), Robin Bacchus (25) and Andrew Light Jr. (23) offered support. Bowling for West Berbice, Keyron Fraser took 5-84, Collis Butts 3-36 and Andrew Dutchin 2-32.

    In reply, West Berbice struggled to 103-9 off 32 overs, with Andrew Dutchin scoring 36 and Leon Andrews 19. Christopher Barnwell, Devon Lord, Gajanan Suknanan and Kellon Carmichael have so far taken two wickets apiece.
