    Christopher Barnwell blasted a boundary-studded 143 to highlight the final day’s play in the Guyana Jaguars Four-day practice game at the Everest ground on Thursday.

     

    Final scores in the match: Christopher Barnwell’s XI 325 and 307; Vishaul Singh’s XI 368 and 72-1.

     

    Barnwell’s XI, resuming on 63-2 and with a lead of 20, were led the skipper himself, who smashed nine fours and eight sixes. The in-form Chandrapaul Hemraj followed up his 65 in the first innings with another solid knock of 79, which was decorated with 11 fours.

     

    Off-spinner Gajanand Suknanan finished with 4-90, while Clinton Pestano (2-17), Raymon Reifer (2-46) and Anthony Adams (2-90) lent support.

     

    Batting a second time, Singh’s XI reached 72-1 when the match ended, with West Indies Under-19 captain Shimron Hetmyer hitting eight fours in an even 50, while Tagenarine Chanderpaul made 22 not out.
