History was created at the weekend when the first student from the Faculty of Health Sciences Graduated as Valedictorian of the University of Guyana. Kibwey Peterkin attained a near perfect Grade Point Average and urged his fellow graduates not to limit themselves.

Peterkin told the over 1600 students to be the best version of themselves and reminded that self doubt can stand in the way of an open door. He also challenged them to work hard and do not take for granted the opportunities provided. “Never let anyone tell you, you can’t,” he encouraged.

The 23-year-old Peterkin graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery Degree and received both the President’s medal and the Prime Minister’s Award.
