    Defending champions Guyana Jaguars were holding a lead of 55 heading into today’s final day’s play in the fourth round West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional Cricket League Digicel Four-day game at the National Stadium, Providence.

    Barbados Pride, resuming day three on Sunday on 48-2, in response to the Jaguars’ first innings total of 311, were dismissed for 288, conceding a lead of 23. By stumps on the penultimate day of the day/night, pink ball match, Jaguars were 32-2.

    Opener Rajendra Chandrika and skipper Leon Johnson are the batsmen dismissed, for nought and 13 respectively. Opener Shimron Hetmyer is not out on 14, and nightwatchman Gudakesh Motie is unbeaten on two, with Kemar Roach and Roston Chase being the wicket-takers.

    Earlier, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul took 4-68 to lead the dismissal of Pride in the first innings. Motie grabbed 2-55, while Keon Joseph had 2-70.

    Shai Hope topscored with 70, while Chase supported with 57. Shane Dowrich and Shamarh Brooks were also among the runs with 44 and 41 respectively. Play on the final day (Monday) will begin at 15:00h.
