GBA concludes season with Woodpecker Products tournament

The Woodpecker Products annual Badminton Christmas Singles was played off last weekend at the National Gymnasium, along with the presentation which was done by Director of Sport Christopher Jones, Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) executives Gokarn Ramdhani, Nicholas Waldron, Darrell Carpenay and Emelia Ramdhani and Lucy Shuffler.

This is the seventh year that the tournament was held and the GBA is extremely happy that Luana Fernandes of Woodpecker Products made it possible by assisting with the development of badminton and sports in Guyana.

The GBA also extended gratitude to Banks DIH Limited for providing refreshments. Below are the summarised scores from the different categories.

Under-11 Boys Singles final: Omar Samad defeated Jeremy Tenpow 21-19, 11-21, 18-21.

Under-13 Girls Singles final: Lesha Singh defeated Elesa Sangster 21-16, 21-8.

Under-19 Ladies Singles final: Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Ambika Ramraj 21-8, 21-4.

Open Men’s Singles final: Nicholas Ali defeated Javid Rahaman 21-16, 21-14.

Open Ladies Singles final: Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Ambika Ramraj 21-12, 21-13.
