Demerara Harbour Bridge tolls to be increased effective January 1, 2017

Effective January 1, 2017 tolls will be increased to cross the Demerara Harbour Bridge, as revealed by Minister within the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Annette Ferguson in the Committee of Supply of the National Assembly today.

Vehicles except minibuses and SUVs will have to pay more, the Minister said in response to Opposition MP, Juan Edghill.

Questioned why the Minister did not inform the public earlier, Ferguson said an announcement was forthcoming later in this week.

The increases are as follows:

Motorcycles- $20 to $40

Motor Car – $100 to $200

Motor Car (Hire)- $100 to $200

Motor Tractors- $200 to $300

Motor Lorry- $500 to $700

One Axel Trailers-$200 to $300

Hearse- $100 to $300
