Some 250 children from Aishalton and neighbouring villages in Region 9 (Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo) were treated to some Christmas cheer when Public Health Minister, Dr. George Norton visited the area.

The children gathered at the AishaltonPrimary school on Friday (December 23, 2016) where they received snacks and other goodies, along with toys.

Giftland Officemax joined with the Ministry to provide the children with toys, while AnsaMcAl Trading Limited, Chris Fernandes of John Fernandes Limited and Linden Holdings Incorporated contributed the snacks and other goodies.

The Children weren’t the only ones to receive Christmas cheer, as on Friday evening, Minister Norton hosted a Christmas Dinner for medical staff in the region.

Some 68 staff members from health centres such as those in Aishalton, Shea and Kraudar gathered for that dinner which was hosted in Burning Hill.
