Guyanese all-rounder Christopher Barnwell through his sporting and fitness apparel store – Leading Edge – partnered with the local Feed A Child for the Holidays Charity group to spread good cheer with a generous donation to the children of the Sophia Care Centre.

The donation included Leading Edge bags and water bottles, sneakers, cricket and football gear and sporting apparel.

Over 90 children were also treated to lunch accompanied with beverages and ice-cream. Administrator of the institution, Roxanne Blenman, expressed her sincere gratitude to the group for visiting the home a second year.

She noted her appreciation for the donation and stated that the children will most certainly enjoy the items.

Christmas is a time of giving and Barnwell articulated why he was motivated to partner and spread cheer, stating “to spread joy to those who are less fortunate. To show them someone cares and think about them. It’s also fulfilling man, like yesterday I felt purposeful.”

The local charity group, Feed A Child for the Holidays also conveyed its thankfulness to Barnwell for partnering with the group for a second consecutive year.

Special thanks also to the Sticky Wicket Restaurant & Bar for their contributions to the initiative.
