Following the recent incident where hundreds of Dynamic Airways passengers were left stranded, the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority is examining a report submitted by the airline’s local representative Roraima Airways, and while no claims were received through the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, a 40 million dollar bond is available to the affected customers to seek refunds.

Head of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Egbert Field speaking at a press conference on Wednesday said the bond is available for passengers to seek refunds.

The GCAA will also be working along with Dynamic airways to limit the amount of delays by the airline.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Balraj Balram clarified that Dynamic Airlines lodged the 40 million dollar bond; however the stranded passengers did not file a claim for refund.

In this regard, Public Infrastructure Minister, David Patterson said should passengers require refunds; they would have to make the claim through the Business Ministry’s Consumer Protection department.

Meantime, media operatives were informed that a recent incident which resulted in Caribbean Airlines plane ripping off the tail of a Fly Jamaica Plane is being investigated by a four country team led by Guyana.

The head of GCAA divulged this information and stated that a preliminary report would be submitted to minister Patterson. However a time frame was not provided for the investigation’s completion.

The Four countries probing the incident are Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and the United States.
