Smart City Solutions has been officially notified of the Government’s decision to suspend the By-Laws governing the Parking Meter Project, and therefore, the company has put measures in place to abide by that decision.

This is according to Town Clerk, Royston King who today (Wednesday, March 22, 2017), told the News Room that all operations have been suspended.

Minister of Communities, Ronald Bulkan Yesterday (Tuesday, March 21, 2017), issued a suspension order of the operation of the By-laws governing the Parking Meter project.

King said there is no Project without the By-laws.

Meanwhile, the Movement Against Parking Meters (MAPM) has postponed its eighth protest which was scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, March 22, 2017). The MAPM said it “will remain watchful and active behind the scenes to ensure that there is no relapse of this oppression to the people of Guyana.”

The project has been suspended for three months to allow for the review of the agreement.
