July 29 possible date for Guyana/USA South rugby clash

The Guyana National Rugby 15’s squad, the ‘Green Machine’, and USA South will no longer meet on July 1 for the Rugby America’s North (RAN) overall title. In light of various scenarios preventing the USA South team from honouring that date, the North American side has asked for an extension to play the match later in the month.

According to sources close to the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), the new date is July 29 with the definite confirmation coming on June 23. In addition, no venue has been selected for the July 29 event as yet, but persons close to the GRFU believe that the extension will only aid in Guyana’s preparation for the event and for the USA South Team.

Further, it was also noted that the Local Organising Committee will meet on June 26 to iron out more details ahead of the staging of the game.
