People’s Progressive Party’s message for Eid-Ul-Fitr

Be comforted that sacrifices bring success

The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) wishes to extend to the Muslim community in Guyana and the Diaspora Eid Mubarak on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

This joyous observance marks the end of the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset refraining from many natural human urges.

Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam and it was during the month of Ramadan that the Holy Quran was revealed and charity is urged. As this significant occasion is being observed, it allows an opportune moment for reflection on its pertinent messages which have relevance for all mankind. It embodies the virtues of sacrifices, generosity and charity and brings peace and unity.

As Ramadan culminates with the feast of Eid-Ul-Fitr, deprivation through fasting brings sympathy and appreciation of the sufferings of others while charity teaches to give rather than expect. These values of humanity are of extreme importance in helping to build a better country and world all desire.

The PPP wishes to draw from the rich virtues of this occasion to reiterate that sacrifices bring success and that hope is alive and must never be lost. Once again the Party extends greetings  to all especially our Muslim Brothers and sisters on this happy occasion . Eid Mubarak!
