The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) has announced that this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examination results will be released on Monday, August 14.

The Council said the results will be sent to the Ministries of Education on Monday while it will be available to candidates online at https://results.cxc.org and on the CXC Connect Mobile App on Friday, August 18.

It also took the opportunity to express sincerest gratitude to all Chief Examiners, Examining Committees, markers, CXC staff, clericals and all who participated in the marking exercise in 2017.

In 2016, the region saw an overall pass rate with grades one to three of 64%. There was a general decrease in Mathematics performance when compared to 2015, while Science subjects saw a decline in both 2016 and 2015.

In Guyana, there was a marginal increase in the overall CSEC pass rate.

The top position was copped by Fatima Karim of St Rose’s High who achieved 19 Grade ones and one Grade two.
