Lethem gas stations shut down, without fuel

The three pump stations in Lethem, Region Nine (Upper Takatu – Upper Essquibo) have ran out of fuel and have been closed until further notice.

News Room understands that the Macedo and Lammy Stations have been without fuel for a few days and only moments ago, the Takutu Gas Station pumped its last drop.

A representative of Lammy Gas Station told News Room that fuel was being transported from Georgetown but because of bad roads, the delivery has been delayed.

The trail from Georgetown to Lethem, known as the Hut Oil Road, is said to be inundated and impassable.
