Guyana will have a chance to experience world renowned Soca artiste Machel Montano yet again on Saturday when he performs at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Montano touched down on Friday afternoon at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport and promised the Guyanese public an exciting show.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been here, I’ve been missing Guyana, so it’s a good feeling for me to come now with such great history that we had in the last couple of year,” the ‘Like A Boss’ artiste stated after arriving at Timerhi. Machel, who will be performing with his band now called “Monk,” explained the rename and the inspiration behind his latest music.

“Well it was the HD Band and that was when Machel was high definition, now Monk is now my philosophy which is movement… to me at the time it was movement of new knowledge, right now it has grown to the movement of now knowledge and it means we moving with influences and messages from all over, it’s about bringing people together with energy of different cultures,” the ‘Big Truck’ artiste noted.

In addition, Montano noted that the Caribbean is a place of “unity” because of its rich history of the different races adopting the culture of each other and shared that the world can learn a lot from the Caribbean people.

However, the “Fast Wine” artiste made sure to highlight that while he is here to give his best performance, he hopes to inspire Guyanese to reach to his level because of the talent that he believes exist in the nation.

Nevertheless, the “Mr. Fete” singer stressed that there will be no sleep time come show time and is ready to get on stage while ending the interview with a preview of his 2017 hit “Fast Wine”.
