Citizens, GPF repaint road signs in Enmore

With the new school year set to commence tomorrow (September 4), residents of Enmore with assistance from the Guyana Police Force today collaborated to repaint the road signs in Enmore, East Coast Demerara.

The aim is to create a safe environment for the hundreds of children who will be traversing the roadways to get to the various learning institutions in the village.

Jailall Deodass, one of the key personnel involved in the annual project, told News Room that this year’s activity was a collaborative effort of The Enmore Action Group, the Concerned Citizens of Enmore Policing Group and the Guyana Police Force’s Traffic Department, who supplied the road marking paint.

“We did six pedestrian crossings and numerous other road marking (in the village). We are thankful to ‘C’ Division of the Guyana Police Force for their assistance in providing a traffic rank to help with the free flow of traffic during the repainting exercise,” Deodass said.

Among those braving the sunshine to complete the project were Deodass, Anil Persaud, Shameer Sahib, Jack Panday, Ranal  Sayroo, Raymond Mohamed and Tej Jadunauth.
