Trans Guyana flies home 10 from hurricane ravaged BVI

A Trans Guyana flight on Monday evening brought home number of Guyanese affected by recent hurricanes, from Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The flight, which is the second to land at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport at 19:00hrs brought a total of ten persons.

The names of the persons who returned are Randy Derek Ragnauth, Avril de Santos, Nanshalee Foxe, Brianna Foxe, Nia Asanti Gill, Rolanda Flatts-Gill, Javed Newman, Janice Callwood, Cameron Foxe and Coran Penn.

The first set of persons was transported by a Roraima Airways aircraft on Sunday.
The News Room was told that a large amount of children are given priority as the number of persons requesting evacuation from the devastated islands increase.

Present at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport are officials from the Ministry of Citizenship to assist persons with missing documents, including birth certificates which were damaged during the hurricanes.

The remains of a Guyanese man, Derek Ragnauth of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, who lost his life in the BVI as a result of hurricane Irma was also slated to return, however, it was disclosed that some hiccups were encountered, which caused some delay.
