PNC/R erects fence; says reflects strength of Party on 60th anniversary

The People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R) in commemoration of its 60th Anniversary continues its celebrations across Guyana and on Sunday, October 15, General Secretary, Amna Ally, who is also the Minister of Social Protection, commissioned a concrete fence at the Party’s office at Vreed-En-Hoop, West Coast Demerara.

According to a release from the Party, Ally in her remarks, noted that the erection of the fence is a “testimony to the kind of leadership which the PNC has; it will continue to be strong; the Party is not static, it continues to grow and it is indeed a force to be reckoned with.”

She attributed the success of the erection of the concrete fence to many, including Mr Ali Khan, Mr Rollex McCullin, Mr Komal Singh and Ms Sherry Gould. According to the release, Ally indicated this was only the beginning and called for the erection of a new Party building in the region.

The release further noted that the Party is working to fulfil the mandate of its leader, David Granger, to have projects in every region in celebration of the 60th anniversary. Party Groups and districts have commenced developmental projects in Regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10; some have already been commissioned while others are to be commissioned at a later date.

Meanwhile, also delivering remarks at the commissioning ceremony was Joseph Harmon, who is the Constituency representative and the country’s Minister of State.

The release noted that he reminded Party members and supporters of the historical significance of the PNC.

“This is a Party of transformation, this Party is on the move, it is one to be proud of,” Harmon was quoted as saying in the release.
