    The Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) has advised that parts of Georgetown, the East Coast of Demerara and the East Bank of Berbice will be without electricity up until 17:00hrs today.

    The company in a public advisory gave a list of over twenty communities which are being affected for this prolonged period “due to unavailability of two of the larger units.” The News Room was told that one of the units located at the Kingston sub-station was taken down for maintenance when another encountered some difficulties.

      9. South Ruimveldt

      13. Tucville
      14. Guyhoc Gardens
      15. Lamaha Park
      17. North Ruimveldt
      18. Lamaha Springs

    East Coast Demerara
    19. Sophia to Success, ECD
    20. Good Hope to Victoria, ECD

    Berbice

    21. #53 Village to Skeldon

    The Power company says it regrets any inconvenience caused.
