$27M Health Centre being constructed in Eccles

For the first time, residents of Eccles, East Bank Demerara will benefit from a Health Centre, which is expected to be completed in another few months.
The public relations department of Region 4 noted that the absence of the facility forces residents of Eccles to use the Agricola or Herstelling Health Centres.
According to a release, Regional Executive Officer (REO) of Region 4, Pauline Lucas and other officials took an extensive tour of the facility where she met with the contractors – Mario and Marlon Andrews.
“What we have seen over the years is that contractors do whatever they think that they should do while in other cases they seek to ‘cut corners’ thus robbing the public of the facilities that has been entrusted to them to build.

The heath centre will include three consultation rooms, a pharmacy, a records room, a dressing room, a treatment room, a VCT room, a rehabilitation room and bathrooms which will cater for the differently abled.
Meanwhile, according to the release, Regional Health Officer (RHO), Dr. Quincy Jones said the construction of the new health centre answers the cries and requests of residents.
