Champion Cyclist still unconscious

Champion Cyclist Beyonce Ross remains in an unconscious state at the Georgetown Public Hospital, with little signs of improvement but her family is praying for a miracle.

She has been hospitalized since Thursday last after she experienced a seizure in the late afternoon.

Ross, 15, fell ill in February and then in March, she was diagnosed with a tumor, in the center of her brain.

Just a few days ago, the teenager discovered that the tumor was not cancerous, bringing some amount of relief to herself and family.

Her mother, Yonette Clarke told News Room that attempts were being made to take her daughter overseas to surgically remove the tumor since the operation cannot be done locally.

Clarke said since her daughter has been hospitalised, there has been little signs of improvement to her health.

Ross remains on life support.

“But we are not giving up. We are praying,” Clarke told News Room.

Ross, a student of the Lower Corentyne Secondary School in Rose Hall, had won three gold medals at the National School Cycling Championships in October 2017.
