The Alliance For Change (AFC) as part of its ‘AFC Cares Initiative’, on Monday made “meaningful contributions” to two of Guyana Scholars who will be pursuing studies overseas.

Fatima Karim, who is Guyana’s top 2016 CSEC performer, gained acceptance into Stanford University, California, United States, was donated a state-of-the-art computer to aid in her endeavours,  an AFC statement noted.

The political party also donated to Ricardo Jordan whose accommodation at the University of Technology in Jamaica was supported for the new academic year 2018-2019.

According to the statement, Leader of the AFC, Raphael Trotman, in the presence of Party Chairman, Khemraj Ramjattan and other members said that “AFC, congratulated the students and stressed the importance of quality education to build a country and reaffirmed the AFC’s commitment to giving support when it can.”

The statement noted that the AFC Leader said that both students are ambassadors for their peers and for the country, as he admonished them to work hard and return to serve Guyana.
