The Guyana Police Force in collaboration with the Fallen Heroes Foundation (FHF)has presented assistance to the families of ranks who died in the line of duty.

Deputy Commissioner Mr. Paul Williams DSM, who distributed the cheques, stated that the Administration of the Force was very pleased with the performance of the FHF initiative and praised the work of the members of the Foundation.

“What we hope to see as we proceed is that the children who benefit will continue to have their eyes on the prize and that the parents continue to ensure that (the children) understand what it is to be of good character – essential qualities of any good citizen,” Williams was quoted as saying.

Williams, who previously served as the Force’s Training Officer, noted the need for children to be brought up in families where love abounds.

He urged the parents to bring up their children in a respectable manner, despite the fact that their fathers have departed.

In support of the thoughts expressed by the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Raphael Massiah, President of the Fallen Heroes Foundation noted that the significant growth that the organization has seen over the years.

He highlighted the need for continued support of the families of those ranks who died in the line of duty.
