Top Cop, Army Inspector General get national awards
Newly appointed Commissioner of Police Leslie James and the Inspector General of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Trevor Bowman have received national awards.
The awards are conferred by the President, who serves as Chancellor of the Orders of Guyana.
The awards were agreed to after consultations with the Chairman and Members of the Advisory Council of the Orders of Guyana, the Ministry of the Presidency stated.
Mr James received the Disciplined Services Star (DSS) and Mr Bowman received the Military Service Medal, with effect from September 12, 2018.
The Disciplined Services Medal previously awarded to Mr James has been withdrawn, the Ministry stated.
