Banks DIH on Saturday brought families together for a day of fun at their third annual Santa’s Enchanted Christmas Village at Demerara Park, East Bank Demerara.

Families came from as far as Linden, West Coast Demerara, and the East Coast of Demerara and the immediate community of Georgetown.

The two days enchanted event includes a list of games and entertainment for the children, a human sizesnake and ladder, a locally made single bowling rink, bouncy castles, spin thewheel, trampolines among other family friendly games. A prize is awarded forevery game won.

Communications Manager, Troy Peters told News Room that the company anticipates close to 5000children at the two days annual event, where every child under the age 12 yearsold are free to enter but a charge of $500 is required for adults and childrenabove 12 years old.

To see Santa, a fee of $500 is required. Every child receives a gift from Santa and his wife along with a picture.

Peters said that the idea for the event, “is that it’s one of the things that they have done tobring families together.

“We bring a little touch of difference because there is a lack of family entertainment”.

Cartoon characters such as ‘Elsa and Olaf’ from the popular Disney Movie ‘Frozen’ had the children excited along with ‘Spiderman’ and ‘Rudolph the Reindeer’.

Throughout the event, appropriate children’s soundtrack was played as they lined up in numbers to play games, have their face painted and of course see Santa. Story-telling is another highlight for the fun filled event.

Kester Vannooten, Manager of Demico Premium Ice Cream and Coordinator for the event said, this istheir way of giving back to the community.
