Three-year-old Roshini Seegobin of Enmore, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was cremated Tuesday at the Good Hope crematorium, ECD following a funeral service.

Hundreds of people attended and extended sympathy to the family.

The child, who suffered from Leukemia, died on January 18 at the Georgetown Public Hospital – some 15 days after she was administered an injection – before undergoing her regular chemotherapy treatment.

She was rushed back to the hospital the next day after her treatment (January 4) and was on life support until her death on January 18.

She is the second child to have died after receiving the same injection.

Seven-year-old Corwin Edwards succumbed on January 14; he too suffered from Leukemia while a third child, six-year-old Sharezer Mendonca is currently on life-support at the institution.

Mendonca also suffers from Leukemia and received the same injection before her chemotherapy treatment.

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) has since launched an investigation and has recalled the use of the medication.
