Seventeen-year-old Mae Allicock of Surama village in Region Nine was on Friday evening crowned Miss Rupununi Rodeo 2019.

According to the Department of Public Information (DPI), Allicock walked away with $125,000 cash, a cosmetic gift set, a free make up tutorial course and a floral bouquet along with a trophy.

Coming in as First Runner up is 17 year old Miss Failaika Charles while the Second Runner up position was given to 17-year-old Miss Pricilla LaCruz, both of Central Lethem.

The Rupununi Rodeo is an annual event which attracts thousands of persons to the border town of Lethem to witness the highly anticipated activities including bareback bronco, saddle bronco, steer roping, and wild cow milking –where vaqueros or cowboys fight to show their supremacy.
