Holy month of Ramadan begins Tuesday
The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) has announced that the crescent for Ramadan has not been sighted, therefore fasting will begin on Tuesday, May 7.
The CIOG in a statement Monday night noted that Taraweeh prayers will commence on Monday.
“CIOG extends Ramadan greetings to the Muslim community of Guyana. May Allah safeguard us for Ramadan and safeguard for us and may He grant us an accepted fast, prayers, charity and entrance into Paradise,” the statement concluded.
