The ANSA McAL-owned and recently rebranded iRadio Inc., now MIX FM Radio station, on Thursday launched their new radio Linden station 103.3 FM and revealed some groundbreaking and state-of-the art upgrades valued at approximately $20M.

Mix FM is set up to reach 90% of Guyana’s population totaling approximately 618,000 listeners. It is licensed to broadcast in Demerara with 90.1 FM, Berbice with 91.5 FM and now on the 103.3 FM station in Linden.

Technical Director of MIX FM, Shameer Ali, highlighted a few strong corporate partnerships and technical capabilities that put MIX FM way above its competitors.

“No other station, I repeat no other station, can match this coverage and by extension this is what we would term the best ever value for advertisers.

“To roll out our Berbice relay transmission – 91. 5 FM – we partnered with E Networks; we also partnered with Digicel to roll out our Linden relay transmission system – 103.3 FM.”

The Technical Director spared no detail when highlighting the resources that have been brought in to power the MIX FM platform and ensure record-breaking span of coverage, content and signal quality.

“This MIX FM package also includes a Tideline audio codex state-of-the-art and best of its class for high quality outside broadcasting operation.”

Chairman of GNBA, Leslie Sobers and Technical Director of MIX FM, Shameer Ali

Mix FM’s music is provided by one of the most reputable music subscription service in the world and not downloaded from torrent sites, so to ensure maximum quality.

Radio broadcasting on Mix FM is tailored to be free of expletives and brought to listeners through some of Guyana’s most talented and experienced broadcasters the likes of Nuriyyih Gerrard, Arian Elliott, Diana Chapman and Veteran Dj Broadcaster Paul Rocky Carew, among others.

Director Beverly Harper indicated the platform’s intent to promote local content by making a call to local artists to submit their music for review saying that “we do have special portions for local content and we’re going to send out a ‘hail up’ to our… Guyanese artistes to please come in with your recordings.”

The IRadio Inc., now Mix FM station, was bought by ANSA McAL in 2015 before having its transmitters upgraded in December of 2019.

Chairman of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA), Leslie Sobers, was present at the launch ceremony and congratulated the Mix FM management for their excellent work and strong adherence to GNBA guidelines thus far.
