To date, three contractors have provided 2,100 tonnes of crusher run materials.  These are Toolsie’s Persaud Limited, BK Limited and Barakara to the tune of $5.3 million, $5.1 million and $5.3 million respectively.

The grading, leveling and the application of crusher run fabrication began from Wakenaam’s Transport and Habours Ferry Stelling to Sans Socui junction. Then it continued from Noitgedacht Crossroad to  Maria’s Pleasure then west of the island to Free & Easy then back to Sans Socui junction.

This will be completed with the application of 2 inches of asphalted concrete on the road’s surface.

Minister Sharma stated that the asphaltic mixture will be poured as of Friday.

The Ministry’s Regional Engineer, Mr. Harry Lall shared with the visiting team that the residents for the past weeks have expressed thanks to the Ministry for the progress of works done to date as they anticipate the completion of the repair works.
