For the past three years, Rong-An Incorporated, a forestry concession operation in the Upper Demerara region, has been conducting medical outreaches in Kwakwani.

The outreach was held in collaboration with the Upper Berbice Forest & Agriculture Producers Association and was held on October 26.

A sixteen-member Chinese medical team with specialized doctors in gynaecology, paediatrics and general medicine attended to over 130 residents in the community.

The outreach team, including the Chinese Medical Team.

The company in a statement said the medical team encouraged the residents to focus on prevention rather than treatment of certain conditions, such as hypertension and diabetes.

Rong-An Inc. also provides employment to the community and has been collaborating on a range of projects such as the construction and maintenance of roads.

The company also supports sporting and educational activities.  The company said it will remain committed to promote medical outreaches in Kwakwani and other communities.

Community members were presented with pharmaceuticals at the end of the outreach.
