Two bouncing baby boys and two girls were safely delivered into the New Year at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation on Wednesday.

The first baby boy was delivered via C-Section; he was followed by a girl, then another boy and another baby girl were delivered by natural birth.

Casindra Dorsett, to whom the first baby girl was born, named her daughter Thalia. She explained that the name means blessings from above.

Minister of Public Health, Volda Lawrence shares a photo with the new born babies, their mothers and staff of the GPHC (DPI Photo)

One of the baby boy’s mother, Keshanna Pollard, has not settled on a name for her son.
However, Shanice McPherson, who delivered the fourth baby for the new year named her daughter Majesty.

Minister of Public Health, Volda Lawrence visited the mothers early Wednesday, expressing her satisfaction that all the babies and mothers are doing well and thanked the hard-working staff of the GPHC for their dedication.

“I am very happy, I am proud that these mothers can come here and have safe deliveries feel secure and comfortable,” the Minister stated.

“I am very grateful for the fact that as the Minister of Public Health, I have a team here at the Georgetown Public Hospital who take their jobs seriously and you can see the improvement we have had from one year to the next,” the Minister said.
