    Two additional persons have been tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) bringing the total to 33 cases thus far. This was disclosed by Minister of Public Health Volda Lawrence during her daily update on Tuesday afternoon.

    The number of deaths remain at five with the last being Drag racer Deryck ‘Mad Dog’ Jaisingh who succumbed on Monday evening.

    The Minister said 132 persons have been tested thus far.

    She said there are currently 24 persons in isolation with four in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Of the four persons, one is in a critical condition.

    The Regional breakdown for persons isolated are one in Region One, four in Region Three, seventeen in Region Four, one in Region Five and one in Region Seven.

    There are currently 38 persons in quarantine at a Ministry of Health facility. Those account for two persons in Region Two, ten in Region Three, 22 in Region Four, three in Region Six and one in Region Eight.

    The Minister urged persons to adhere to the measures implemented by the Government to stop the spread of the disease.
