The relatives of 29-year-old Lalbachan Bhagwandat known as ‘Jagan’ who has been missing since April 18, are asking the public’s assistance in finding him.

His sister Yashwanti Bhagwandat, told the News Room that he left his home at Lot 11 North Section, Canal No. 2 Polder, West Bank Demerara (WBD), at about 22:30hrs on Friday and never returned.

The News Room understands that the young man suffers a form of mental illness and he was last seen heading into the backlands.

The family contacted the Wales Police Station but Bhagwandat said they did not receive any help from the ranks there.

“We filed a report on Saturday night and no officers at all checked. We did a follow-up call with them on Sunday and their response was ‘they will send police to check’ but they cannot give a time and cannot guarantee that the police will come,” the sister told the News Room.

Relatives and friends have since launched a search party.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of ‘Jagan’ is askes to contact 630 5006 or 6014291 or 676 6588.
