Commonwealth Secretary General calls for full transparency of vote recount

The Secretary General of the 54-nation Commonwealth Patricia Scotland has called for “full transparency” of the vote recount process that commenced Wednesday morning.

“I welcome the commencement of the recount process in #Guyana today. Full transparency and adherence to the rule of law is vital to the credibility of the electoral process,” Scotland said on Twitter on Wednesday.
She said Commonwealth continues to support the process through its Senior Electoral Adviser to GECOM
