Police have arrested a 51-year-old driver/salesman of John Street, Georgetown after a parcel of 284 grams of suspected cannabis was found in his vehicle.

The vehicle was intercepted Tuesday about 08:00hrs at Perth Village, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.

Meanwhile, Police Headquarters also reported that two unemployed men, one of Victoria, East Coast Demerara and the other from Charlestown, Georgetown were also arrested Tuesday at about 16:45hrs for the possession of suspected cannabis.

They were at the house of a 33-year-old female clerk at Durban Street Lodge, Georgetown. Police acted on information and searched the property.

Approximately 36.43 kilograms (80.3 pounds) of suspected cannabis were found taped in parcels in two barrels and a box. The man from Victoria had 390 grams of suspected cannabis in a haversack.

They are all in custody pending charges.
